Map citation
Cite your source with our maps
Want to include a TeleGeography map in your publication? Here’s how.
How to cite our maps
Any reference to a TeleGeography map, URL, or any related screen capture is made available under the Creative Commons License: Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). This means that you may use our maps in your work, but TeleGeography must be properly credited.
FAQs
Does this Creative Commons license apply to all maps?
This applies to all publicly available TeleGeography maps.
How do I get a high-res copy of the interactive cable map?
Please note that for our interactive cable map, no high-resolution version of this tool exists, as it renders entirely in the browser. Some people have found that a screenshot meets their needs. You can also download a full version of the 2025 print map at the bottom of this page.
I’m a student looking for the underlying data. Is the data available?
We’re happy to have students cite our publicly available resources and leverage screenshots of our maps in their work, so long as TeleGeography is credited. Access to the underlying databases remains restricted to paying subscribers.
If your university is interested in obtaining access to TeleGeography data, our sales team (sales@telegeography.com) is happy to help.
I’m a journalist who’d like to use your map in an upcoming story. Who should I get in touch with?
We often collaborate with journalists working on important stories about the industry. If you have any extra information about what you're working on and how our map would be used, we're glad to consider. Please share with us at press@telegeography.com.
Can I embed your map on my site?
TeleGeography’s interactive cable map is not an embeddable resource. If you’d like to access the underlying data for a project, you may license our map data.
