TeleGeography at PTC 2025
At PTC '25, Brianna Boudreau, Jon Hjembo, and Alan Mauldin took the stage to share TeleGeography's latest telecom trends workshop.
This year's topics included:
- From Clickbait to Reality: A Deep Dive into Global Pricing Trends: Submarine cables are always a hot topic; 2024 was no different. With the number of delayed systems finally coming to fruition and cable announcements throughout the year, there was a lot of anticipation about the impact of this new supply on markets around the world. Here's a closer look at how those headlines actually impacted the market in terms of pricing.
- Evaluating Interconnection Market Health: What makes a city a hub? And what makes a hub healthy? Before we answer these questions, we must acknowledge that the interconnection market is not a homogeneous thing. It's an ecosystem comprised of numerous critically interdependent parts, much like a body or a machine. This presentation reviews and compares different global markets.
- Mother Earth, Motherboard: How will AI impact international networks? Great question. The truth is, no one really knows what AI will mean for long-haul networks. No one can tell you it will lead to X percent more bandwidth growth over X years—that's unknown at this stage. But this presentation lays out what we do know as of 2025.
