Bigleaf Networks’ Cloud-First SD-WAN takes a slightly different approach. The network-based service combines routers at each branch site with a private backbone network. Customer traffic travels over Bigleaf’s Cloud Access Network, a fully redundant private IP network to gain access to the cloud. This allows Bigleaf to optimize end-to-end application performance.
What you need to know
Unlike other SD-WAN solutions, Bigleaf takes a purely internet-based approach. That is, it doesn’t support a hybrid WAN. So if you’re looking to incorporate MPLS IP VPN or Ethernet private line connectivity in your WAN, this may not be the best fit. But if you’re ready to make the switch to an all internet network, it’s an interesting option.
